Rakhi, is a Hindu festival, it is also known as Raksha Bandhan, which means a ‘bond of protection’. This festival belongs to north and western region of India. Rakhi celebrate the festival of love and duty between sister and brother. It is not celebrated by biological brother and sister but men and women brother ans sister type relationship.
On the day of Rakhi, sisters prepares the pooja thali with diya, roli, chawal, rakhi thread and sweets. Sister ties Rakhi to her brother’s wrist and prayer for his prosperity and happiness. Brothers also wish her a good life and pledges to take care of her. He also gave her token of gift to show his love.
In India people relatives shows love by making things by their self, like grand mother sew sweater for their grand children. Few sisters create rakhi for her brothers to express love. You can also made rakhi at home.
